Plucky - General Game Rules
Plucky - Rules of the Game
Overview
Sweepstake Technologies Limited trading as Plucky and Plucky.com offers a regulated platform for Account Holders (“users”) to create and participate in paid leagues and/or sweepstakes based on third-party publishers’ fantasy, predictor, last man standing games and derivatives (collectively “third-party games”), certain major sporting events and third-party partners’ live social gaming venues.
These rules form part of Plucky’s Terms & Conditions and all definitions used are as set out in that document. Plucky makes every effort to ensure that our rules are fair and transparent; if you feel that this is not the case for any reason, please contact us at www.plucky.com/support
These rules should be read in conjunction with any, and all related, third-party Rules and Terms and Conditions, which govern specific rules for the appropriate third-party games. For the avoidance of doubt, with relation to third-party games, Plucky is not the game provider but the platform which allows users to bet against each other for money in a safe and secure way. Plucky pools users’ stakes and pays out prizes to the winners from the published results of the third-party games.
Account and Identity Verification
Plucky is open to UK and ROI residents aged 18 and over.
All users must register and verify their identity and age.
Only one user account per individual is allowed.
One user account can be used for joining and/or creating paid leagues for all third-party games but can only be linked to one user account per third-party (publishers and partners).
To use Plucky for a third-party game, users must register with or log in to Plucky via the published links on the appropriate third-party publisher/partner website or app. These links will differ from game to game.
General Rules
Where Plucky is available users are permitted to join multiple public paid leagues/sweepstakes and join multiple and/or create multiple private paid leagues/sweepstakes.
Plucky requires a minimum of 3 unique users to enter for an individual paid league/sweepstake to be valid. If a paid league/sweepstake does not contain 3 unique users by the entry deadline, it will be deemed void and any stakes will be refunded.
For the avoidance of doubt, stakes are not refundable unless a paid league/sweepstake is deemed void.
The Founder
The user who initiates a private paid league/sweepstake will be referred to as the Founder. Any user who joins a private paid league/sweepstake via an invite will be referred to as a Player.
The Founder has four main functions:
1. Select the event/third-party game on which they wish to run a paid league/sweepstake.
2. Set the stake size from the available options; the stake is the fixed entry fee for each entry into the paid league/sweepstake.
3. Determine the prize pay-out schedule from the available selection
4. Send invitations to family, friends, colleagues, league members etc to participate.
Inviting others to participate
The Founder can send invitations into their private paid league/sweepstake via a unique URL, which can be shared by email, social media, or instant messaging apps such as WhatsApp. Clicking the URL will take the invitee to the entry page for that private paid league/sweepstake with all relevant information pre-populated.
For private paid leagues on third-party games, Founders may only invite existing mini/private league members.
With the terms of entry already determined by the Founder, all the invitee must do is click ‘Enter’ to confirm their entry. If the invitee does not already have a Plucky account, they will be required to register and deposit funds to enter the private paid league/sweepstake.
All members of a third-party mini/private league do not have to join the Plucky paid league and play for money. However, only members who have opened a Plucky account, deposited, and staked their entry fee into the prize pool are eligible to win any Plucky prize payout.
Prize pay-out schedules and fees
Standard payout structures:
1st Place Only – Winner receives 100% of the net prize pool.
1st, 2nd & 3rd Place –
1st place receives 55% of the net prize pool
2nd place receives 30%
3rd place receives 15%
The net prize pool is 100% of stakes received, less a 10% administration fee (unless otherwise published). This fee is deducted when a result has been declared, before prizes are paid out.
Charity/Club Paid Leagues/Sweepstakes:
Charity or club sweepstakes have special payout rules, including allocations to HMRC (Pool Betting Duty) and the charity.
1st Place Only –
Winner receives 50% of the gross prize pool (100% stakes received)
Charity/Club receives 34.21%,
HMRC receives 7.5%
Plucky retains 8.29%
1st, 2nd & 3rd Place –
1st: 27.5%,
2nd: 15%,
3rd: 7.5%
Remainder as above.
In the case of a tie or "dead heat", the relevant prizes will be pooled and shared equally among the players.
Paid League Results
All data which determines prize payouts will be taken directly from official third-party game data and as such will be deemed final.
In the unlikely event that changes are made to the third-party game data after the paid league places have been determined and/or paid out, no changes will be made to the Plucky pay out, which will stand as originally declared.
When a paid league is completed as per third-party game rules, Plucky will credit prizes to the winning player(s) Plucky account(s). In any third-party game where the paid league has specific pay out rules which may differ from the standard league rules these will be detailed in the game specific rules section.
Sweepstake Results
The results of all sweepstakes will be determined by a publicly available, recognised, reliable and pre-determined data source. This may vary from event to event but will always be from a credible source and will be published on the platform for each event.
Each player regardless of outcome is clearly notified of the event results, sweepstake winners and the prize pay-outs.
Once the prize places have been declared, Plucky will credit prizes to the winning player(s) Plucky account(s). Once a result has been declared, that result is final regardless of any overturning of such a result in the event of, for example, a positive drug test or other unforeseen circumstance that may occur at a later date, regardless of when such a change of result takes place.
The original result and the prize pay-out determined by the platform will stand in all circumstances. In the extremely unlikely event where a service interruption is caused by failures in the gambling system, we will suspend all sweepstakes that have been affected by a significant event before service is restored and refund all related stakes. Other system failures will be dealt with fairly on a case-by-case basis.
Sweepstake Rules
Making a Selection
Once a player has entered the sweepstake, they will be informed via email and/or SMS when the draw starts. Once the draw is open they will have the opportunity to pick a ‘ticket’. Once the ticket is chosen, the player will ’scratch’ the ticket to reveal their selection (“participant”) from the list available for that sweepstake draw.
In all cases, each ticket will be either scratched off by the player or will be automatically assigned to a player by Plucky, where the player is unable to participate in the ‘draw’ itself.
After the draw period has closed all assigned participants will be revealed and displayed to the players.
Randomisation Process
Plucky sweepstakes are fundamentally random. All tickets when chosen by players are done so ‘blind’. When it is necessary, due to timings of events, size of fields or unknown names of participants, Plucky will use random processes to allocate a number of pre-determined participants to individual tickets. These are published before the event and are available in the setup of the individual sweepstake.
To give time for founders to send invites into sweepstakes or for charities and clubs to invite their members into games, it is often necessary to publish a sweepstake before the actual number or names of participants is known. In such cases Plucky will estimate the minimum number of participants or use a subset of declared participants to form the set of available tickets.
Unsold tickets
For each private sweepstake, at the published Draw Start time, Plucky will randomly distribute and assign an equal number of the available tickets between the participating players. E.g. in a 34 runner horse race with 6 participating players; each player will be assigned an additional 4 tickets to make a total of 5 tickets per player.
Any remaining unassigned tickets will be deemed non-runners for that private sweepstake.
If a non-runner wins the event, then the next best performing selection that has been assigned to a player will receive the prize. For example, if the winning horse was not selected in the draw, then the second placed horse would receive first prize, third placed horse (if assigned) would receive second prize and fourth (if assigned) would receive third prize. If the sweepstake was a ‘winner take all’ game then the full prize money would be allocated by the platform to the best performing selection chosen, regardless of their place.
Non-Runners
Unless otherwise stated, when an assigned ticket selection is no longer scheduled to participate in the chosen sporting event, for the purposes of a sweepstake, the selection will still be regarded as a runner (“All in, run or not”).
Integrity
Sweepstake Technologies Limited will work with all official sporting bodies and authorities and the Gambling Commission to ensure that all events are fair and to uphold the utmost integrity in sport. A decision given by the relevant governing body of any sport will be considered conclusive evidence. In the event of any suspicion of match-fixing or results-rigging of any kind on any Plucky paid league/sweepstake, we reserve the right to provide relevant data to any official sporting body or authorities and/or the Gambling Commission.
Where there is evidence of any form of collusion, we reserve the right to withhold payment, pending the outcome of any subsequent investigation and ultimately to declare bets on that event as void.
Where evidence of collusion exists, or where there is evidence of a series of bets having been placed by or for the same individual or by a syndicate of individuals, we reserve the right to require claims for payment to be submitted in writing.
In the event of an official enquiry in relation to suspicious betting activity surrounding an event we reserve the right to disclose confidential information to the sport's governing body or their representatives, on the conditions that they consent to keeping such information confidential.
GAME SPECIFIC RULES FOR PAID LEAGUES IN THIRD-PARTY GAMES
Unless otherwise stated, Paid Leagues follow the game rules within the third-party game (e.g. The Sun Dream Team, Telegraph Fantasy Football).
Season long leagues in Sun Dream Team (Fantasy)
Please note that season-long Paid Leagues may start after Gameweek 1 but will run until the end of the Dream Team season
Weekly/Monthly leagues in Sun Dream Team (Fantasy)
Points generated by Boosters (e.g. Max Captain, 12th Man) are not applied to Weekly/Monthly Paid leagues.
If playing the Max Captain Booster, your captain choice for that Gameweek will still generate double points
Points generated by substitutes are applied to Paid Leagues
Sun Dream Team (Last Man Standing) - TBC
If the event ends with a paid Last Man Standing league still active, irrespective of the number of players remaining, the paid league prize pool will be split equally and Plucky will credit prizes to the winning player(s) Plucky account(s).
Sun Dream Team (Score Predictor) - TBC
