Grand National 2024 - Rules
These rules should be read in conjunction with Plucky’s general sweepstake rules and terms and conditions. The general game rules can be found here: Game Rules.
Grand National 2024 - Private Sweepstake Rules
Plucky’s Grand National 2024 Sweepstakes will run on the following 3 races:
Randox Foxhunters' Open Hunters' Chase - scheduled 4:05pm Thursday April 11th 2024
Randox Supports Race Against Dementia Topham Handicap Chase - scheduled 4:05pm Friday April 12th 2024
Randox Grand National Handicap Chase - scheduled 4:00pm Saturday April 13th 2024
Each race is a separate sweepstake with each sweepstake ticket containing a number corresponding to the allocated horse running in its respective race. For example a ticket for the Grand National Handicap Chase containing the number 2 will be allocated the horse with racecard number 2 in Saturday’s scheduled Grand National Handicap Chase.
The randomised process by which we assign a horse number to a ticket is described in our general Rules of the Game.
At the published Draw Start time, for each private sweepstake, Plucky will randomly assign an equal number of the available tickets between the participating customers. E.g. in a 34 runner horse race with 6 participating customers; each customer will be assigned 5 tickets. Any remaining unassigned tickets will be deemed non-runners for that private sweepstake. Please read the section on ‘Unfilled selections’ in the main game rules for more information.
In all cases, each assigned ticket will be either scratched off by the customer or will be allocated by Plucky, where the customer is unable to participate in the ‘draw’ itself.
The winners will either be based on the number of the winning horse in a ‘winner takes all’ sweepstake, or on the numbers of the horses that come 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed in its respective race.
In the case of private individual sweepstakes -
1st Place Only Sweepstake - Winner receives 100% of the net pot. The net pot is 100% stakes less Plucky fees of 9.75%.
1st, 2nd & 3rd Place Sweepstake - Winner shall receive 55% of the net pot, 2nd place receives 30% of net pot and 3rd place receives 15% of net pot. The net pot is 100% stakes less Plucky fees of 9.75%.
In the case of sweepstakes being held in aid of charities or clubs -
1st Place Only Sweepstake - Winner receives 50% of the gross pot. The gross pot is the sum total of all sweepstake entry fees. From the remaining 50% of the gross pot, the charity or club receives 34.21%, with 7.5% payable to HMRC for Pool Betting Duty and Plucky receives fees of 8.29%.
1st, 2nd & 3rd Place Sweepstake - Winner shall receive 27.5% of the gross pot, 2nd place receives 15% of gross pot and 3rd place receives 7.5% of gross pot. The gross pot is the sum total of all sweepstake entry fees. From the remaining 50% of the gross pot, the charity or club receives 34.21%, with 7.5% payable to HMRC for Pool Betting Duty and Plucky receives fees of 8.29%.
Should there be a ‘dead heat’ for any place, the prizes for those places will be added, divided in two and shared between the two relevant ticket holders.
In the case that the number of a customer's horse is declared a non-runner PRIOR to the race, then that customer will forfeit their stake in relation to that ticket.
The sweepstake result is based on the full ‘weighed-in’ result declared by the on course Stewards following the race. Any subsequent change in the result after the ‘weighed-in’ result is announced (e.g. disqualification) will not affect the sweepstake result.
Winner’s funds will be credited to customer’s accounts within 60 minutes of the full race result being published.
In the unlikely event of some force majeure preventing any of the sweepstake races at the 2024 Aintree Grand National Festival from taking place, all entries are voided and all funds will be credited back to customers’ accounts, less a small deduction to cover Plucky’s transaction costs. This will be a maximum of 5%.
